Glenorchy is attracting significant investment across entertainment, housing, and infrastructure.
Glenorchy’s Future Development
Key projects include a redevelopment of the Derwent Entertainment Centre into a dedicated home for NBL team the Jack Jumpers, surrounded by a new retail and entertainment precinct at Wilkinsons Point. New housing is underway at Whitestone Point, with more planned for Windermere Bay near the historic Claremont Primary School site.
Infrastructure is also being upgraded, with the Bridgewater Bridge redevelopment and the Northern Suburbs Transit Corridor improving movement for residents and visitors alike. All of this builds on Glenorchy’s existing drawcard — MONA, one of Australia’s most celebrated art museums.
Together, these projects aim to make Glenorchy the most liveable, affordable, and welcoming municipality in Tasmania.
