Your general waste bin is collected fortnightly.
Here is how the service works.
Your bin
Standard household bins have a dark green lid and hold 140 litres. If your household produces more waste, you can apply for an upgrade to a 240-litre bin for an additional charge.
Collection day
Bins are collected fortnightly. Find your collection day using tool below by typing your unit and/or street number in first followed by your street name.
Put your bin out the night before or by 6:00 am on collection day. Place it at the kerb with at least 1 metre clearance from other bins and obstacles. Make sure the lid is fully closed.
What goes in your rubbish bin
General waste includes everyday rubbish that cannot be recycled or composted, such as:
- Food scraps wrapped in bags (if not using FOGO)
- Non-recyclable packaging
- Tissues and hygiene products
- Broken glass wrapped in paper
