We are a proud city; a city of arts; of opportunity; of partnerships; a city that makes exciting things happen.

— City of Glenorchy Community Plan 2015–2040

Art is at the heart of Glenorchy’s identity and future.

The city’s vision for 2040 is to be a thriving creative community — and that ambition is already visible across our streets, spaces, and venues. Read more in our strategy document: Glenorchy – A City of Arts 2040.

Moonah Arts Centre

Owned and operated by Glenorchy City Council, the Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is the cultural heart of the city — a welcoming space for the community to meet, collaborate, and share experiences through art and culture. The centre hosts regular exhibitions, workshops, and events, and has venues available for hire for presentations, functions, and private events.

Opening hours: Mon–Fri 10am–5pm | Sat 10am–2pm | After-hours openings for events and workshops.

Visit moonahartscentre.org.au to see what’s on and learn more.

Public Art

Glenorchy’s streets, parks, and community spaces are home to a growing collection of sculptures, murals, and mosaics — many created in collaboration with local schools, community groups, and businesses. Keep your eyes open as you explore the city; there’s always something to discover.
