We want your bin collection to run smoothly. Here is what to do if something goes wrong.

Missed collection

If your bin was not collected on your scheduled day:

  1. Check that you put your bin out before 6:00 am on collection day
  2. Check there were no obstacles preventing the truck from accessing your bin
  3. If you are sure it was missed, report it to Council within 24 hours
  4. Ensure that it did not contain hazardous items which cannot be collected.

To view a list of items that you can and cannot place in your bin read our Waste And Recycling Services Guide (PDF).

Check the lid of your bin for a sticker which will tell you the reason it was not collected and then contact us. We will notify our waste services contractor to make sure that your missed bins are collected.

Did you know?

Sometimes if your bin is really full, items may become compacted so they don’t fall out when the bin is lifted into the truck. Make sure the contents of the bin are loose to get the best results out of your service.

Damaged, lost or stolen bin

If your bin has been damaged (cracked lid, broken wheels etc.) or stolen, contact us and we will arrange a repair or replacement. Please let us know which bin was stolen.

New bin (new property)

If your property does not have bins, contact us to arrange a service.

Request a different size bin

Contact us to discuss options for upgrading or downgrading your bin size. Check Additional Waste Collection for more information.
