You can pay Council rates, fees, charges and fines using a range of methods.
Pay online
Our online portal allows you to Pay your Rates, Parking Infringements, Dog Registration, Food Registrations and Sundry Debtors.
The Portal accepts both Credit or Debit cards.
Other payment options
BPAY
You can use internet banking, your banking app, or call your bank, credit union or building society to pay by BPAY from your cheque, savings or credit card account.
Use the biller code and your reference number from your notice.
Pay via phone
Our payment portal supports payments over the phone using your credit or debit card.
You will need your your biller code number:
- 868893 for rates
- 736652 for dog registrations
- 1002840 for infringements
- 737767 for food registrations
- 737775 for sundry debtors.
To pay, call 1300 BPOINT (1300 276 468) and follow the prompts, or if you would like to speak with a Customer Service person, call 03 6216 6800.
Pay via Mail
Mail your cheque or money order (made payable to Glenorchy City Council) together with your remittance slip to PO Box 103, Glenorchy TAS 7010.
Note that:
- Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.
- Council will not be responsible for delays in the postal service.
Pay in person
Bring your invoice and your payment amount to our Customer Service counter at 374 Main Road, Glenorchy or to any Australia Post Office or Post Office Agency.
Note that:
- Payments may be made by cash, cheque, approved credit card and debit card.
- We can take payments on Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 5pm.
Centrepay
You can use Centrepay to arrange deductions from your Centrelink payment. For more information, please phone us on 03 6216 6800.
Direct Debit
Direct debit payments can be arranged with the Direct Debit Request Form (PDF). Fill it out and send a copy to gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au, or bring it in person to our Customer Service counter at 374 Main Road, Glenorchy.
If you want to change or cancel your direct debit, you can use the Authority to Cancel/Amend Direct Debit form (PDF).
Please note:
- No interest or penalty will apply on up to date direct debit arrangements.
- You can select to make payments weekly, fortnightly, monthly or by instalment.
Payment arrangements
If you are having difficulty paying outstanding rates, you may be able to apply for relief through our Financial Hardship Policy.
Receipt
A receipt will be issued for all payments. Keep it for your records.
