Section 337 certificate
A Section 337 certificate (under the Local Government Act 1993) provides information about outstanding rates, charges and orders on a property. This is usually obtained by your conveyancer as part of the settlement process.

If you purchase a property, you become responsible for rates from the date of settlement. Unpaid rates carry over with the property.
