The Glenorchy City Council Audit Panel provides independent oversight of Council’s financial performance, risk management and governance.

What does the Audit Panel do?

The Audit Panel:

  • Reviews Council’s financial statements before they are adopted
  • Oversees internal audit processes
  • Reviews risk management frameworks
  • Monitors compliance with legislation and policies
  • Reports its findings and recommendations to Council

Who is on the Audit Panel?

The Audit Panel includes independent external members with expertise in finance, auditing and governance. The Panel is not made up of elected Aldermen — this ensures its independence.

Meetings

The Audit Panel meets several times per year. Agendas and minutes are publicly available.

Reports

Audit Panel reports are provided to Council and are publicly available through the Documents and Publications page.
