Our community achieves great things every day.

Here are some ways in which we can acknowledge the contribution of those enriching Glenorchy’s culture, identity and community.

Glenorchy Volunteer Awards

The Glenorchy Volunteer Awards are held annually to recognise outstanding volunteers and volunteer groups across the municipality.

These awards celebrate the dedication, generosity and positive impact of people who give their time to support community organisations, sporting clubs, neighbourhood groups, events and local initiatives.

Volunteers make an important contribution to Glenorchy’s social wellbeing and community spirit, and Council is proud to recognise their efforts each year.

Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals or groups whose volunteer work has made a meaningful difference in the community.

Previous recipients are recognised on the Previous Volunteer Award Winners page.

Nominating someone

Council encourages community members to nominate individuals, groups and organisations for recognition through our awards programs.

Information about eligibility, nomination criteria and application processes is published when nominations open each year.

Citizenship Ceremonies

We hold several ceremonies throughout the year where new Australian citizens are officially welcomed into our community.

Conferees are contacted by Council approximately 4 weeks before their ceremony date.

To enquire about upcoming citizenship ceremony dates please contact Council’s Events Officer on 03 6216 6800.
