Glenorchy City Council has nine elected Aldermen who represent all residents of the city. They are elected every four years by Glenorchy residents.

Shane Alderton
Shane and his wife Linda moved to Glenorchy back in 1985, with all three of his children born and raised in the Northern Suburbs with all having attended local schools.

Josh Cockshutt
Born and raised in the City of Glenorchy, Josh is a passionate young Tasmanian optimistic about the future of our great City.

Molly Kendall
Molly's young family moved to the Northern Suburbs back in 2010. They love the vibrancy, multiculturalism, and resourcefulness of the people here.


Tim Marks
Tim Marks, a highly respected advocate in the disability sector, has dedicated over 50 years to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Originally from Burnie, Tasmania, he relocated to Glenorchy in 1997.

Peter Ridler RFD
Alderman Ridler is a recipient of the Reserve Forces Decoration and the Australian Defence Force Medal.

Stuart Slade
Stuart has resided in the Glenorchy City all his life and attended local schools. He is married to Lynne with three children and seven grandchildren.

Justin Stringer
Justin grew up in the Glenorchy municipality and now raises his own family in the area.
