Before you move

☐ Contact a removalist and confirm your moving date

☐ Update your address with Australia Post (redirect mail)

☐ Notify your bank, employer, Medicare and other services of your new address

☐ Contact your utilities — electricity, gas, internet and phone

When you arrive

☐ Find your bin collection day using our Waste Collection Search tool

☐ Register your dog(s) with Council (required within 30 days of moving to the municipality)

☐ Introduce yourself to neighbours

Within the first few weeks

☐ Update your electoral roll — contact the Tasmanian Electoral Commission at tec.tas.gov.au

☐ Enrol children in local schools

☐ Register with a local GP and dentist

☐ Explore your neighbourhood — parks, shops, cafes and community spaces
